I have Mario Kart and have two questions

(1) Can I buy a spare wii-mote to leave in the wheel? Or does it have to be the #1 controller?

(2) How do I speed start? You know in the original if you pressed your gas pedal at the right moment your car would speed ahead with flames coming out of your car. How do you do that in this one? I can't figure it out and even though Im in first place by the time I get moving all the other drivers are ahead of me and Im in last place! Its so frustrating and I know there has to be a quick start to this game!

Its fun---my girls enjoy it. They get upset with the other racers, but they enjoy "driving" :claphappy:

Wendy......we have 4 Wii remotes and have left 2 of them in the steering wheels.....just make sure those are what you pick up when you start to play and you will be player one and two. OR you can go to the menu and remote reconnect (or something like that) to make your wheels 1 and 2. Makes it easier since you have to take the jacket off of the remote and everything!

As for starting fast...haven't quite mastered that! Like you...I start out in last place and have to work my way up! When I start I push 2 (gas) and B buttons.....not sure it works but kind of seems like I do! When the blue sparks start flying around me I push B again and it gives me a boost.

Hope this helps!

gotcha about the wii-motes. I kind of figured that I'd have to do that with them, but didn't want to waste the money on them if it wouldn't work that way!

I will have to try your technique out and see if it works for me. If so, I'll pass it on to my brother who keeps calling me about it! :hyper:

Are you talking about the boost that you get at the starting line? If so, to get that you start holding down the gas when the countdown timer gets to "2". That should give you that extra boost when the cars start to go. With practice you'll figure out the exact right moment to do it -- I can do it at almost every starting line now! Good luck!

LOL Jaye.......a bunch of scrappy women talking about our Wii addictions!!!! I received COOL MOM status the other day when I had one of my son's (11yr old) friends in car and I was telling my son that I had unlocked a couple circuits on Mario Cart while he was at school! His friend couldn't believe a mom was talking about a video game!
