Neverland Scraps

All I have to say is WOW!
Every Monday we have what is called a Perkiomen Sale.
My mom goes, rants and raves about all the antiques, farming equipment and the flower auction (which is why she goes)
I've never had a desire to go to this sale because (1) I hate antiques. They are overpriced things that I have no business in my house (2) I dont own a farm and (3) I have a black thumb---I dont care for flowers.
Last week at Ballet one of the mom's ranted about this sale and the fruit. My ears perked up and I said "fruit?" She got a load of fruit for a cheap amount. I didn't believe she got so much, but decided why not try today.
Today I spent 45 minutes waiting in a "line" pushing and shoving my way to the front to get my "order". After all that pushing and shoving this is what I ordered:
6 stalks of Brocolli
5 Pounds of Red Delicious Apples
5 Pounds of Granny Smith Apples
10 pounds of Banana's
12 Ears of Corn
1 Big Seedless Watermelon
5 Pounds of Bing Cherries
8 Pounds of Green Grapes
2 Boxes of Grape Tomatoes (I want to say they are a pint)
5 Pounds of Peaches
5 Pounds of Large Carrots
10 Oranges
2 Boxes of Strawberries
I think that's all I got.
All those items are locally grown (even the oranges) and I ONLY paid $20.00
Isn't that a steal?
I have been unpacking and cleaning for over an hour and Im still not done cleaning and putting everything away! Its crazy. Its hard to believe that a family that consists of two children and one adult will eat so much fruits and veggies, but trust me---that will be gone by the end of the week!
I wish I had known about this when Josh was home. He always broke the bank by his consumption of fruits and veggies. If we ever live in this area again with him, Im so making this my regular routine so there will always be fresh fruits and veggies in the house. For now, Im content with getting it every couple of weeks.
Im still shocked at how much I got for such a cheap price!
We've lived here for over two years and I wish I had known about it then!
