Ok, so maybe the title wasn't the best description, but I was wondering how you take two (or more for that matter) objects ...elements... and weave them through each other...kind of like thread through a needle....know what I mean?
Now, I don't have photoshop (that's probably why), but I have a program called FotoFusion...if anyone knows if it could be done with this program, it would be most appreciated!!!

Like a ribbon around a frame?
How I do it is I duplicate the ribbon, putting one behind the frame, the other in front, and use my eraser on the top layer to eliminate the parts that are supposed to be behind the frame. I don't know if FotoFusion works in layers, but if it does you should be able to do that!

Wonderful answer Jennifer! Another way that I do this jemenifer22 is by "selecting" the object that I want to wrap my ribbon around...say a frame... then I invert the selection and erase the portions of whatever it is that I'm wrapping...say my ribbon...
Hmmm... it is SOO much easier than it sounds LOL! it's hard to explain, and honestly I'm not familiar with your photo editing software...LOL! Does my explanation make any sense?
I'm pretty sure you can't do this in FotoFusion. At least not in the version I have.
hhmmm.. that's tricky. i know some programs don't allow erasing or cutting. i think the way you do it is... you buy photoshop elements!! ROFL!
i'm not familiar with that program so i'm not really sure. if anyone finds out tho, let us know!!!

Yeah the only way I know is using an eraser tool to remove the bits that wouldn't be there so that is not an option right now. There are some interesting elements out there that group a series of elements already for you to use. Also if you are enjoying scrapping and considering buying another programme consider what you are going to do with it, Photoshop itself is pretty expensive for many scrappers and so Photoshop elements is used by many which is a cut down version but it can do an awful lot that most of us want to do (if we aren't designers). Also if you are thinking of either of these products do you know that their website has a 30 day free no obligation trial of the products?

jennifer if you do a google search for paint.net you will be able to download their free program and use that until you can afford photoshop.....I use it as money is tight and am slowly teaching myself new things all the time.....it works with layers so you can wrap ribbon around frames etc... Hope this helps

You can't do that with Foto Fusion.
When I used to work for another site many many many MANY long months ago we always had to make our products Foto Fusion Friendly. Meaning we had to have one side of the clip cut out so you could just place the element against when you were wanting as well as the other side so you could adjust the opacity, etc to make it look realistic.

I'm so glad I read this today. I've been doing the erasing a really hard way. Never thought about making that duplicate for the back. Thanks for the eye opener.

I never thought of duplicating the layer either. It could make it easier to avoid gaps when erasing. It might get tricky if the elements have shadows though, might have to erase them on one layer.

I guess you need another software program. Someone suggested Photoshop Elements but I highly recommend Corel's PaintShopPro (the latest is version PSP X2). It does more than Photoshop Elements for about $80 online (It think, may be less). Corel frequently has sales for reduced price or adding a free additional program when buying PSP. Not only can you erase and work in layers, there are 5 ways to select portions of layers, so you don't always need a steady hand. I can't say enough how I like it. Hope this helps.
