Where do you print your albums at? I want them bound and printed, but I don't want to spend a fortune, and shutterfly looks like it is going to cost me almost double what I want to spend
Great thread Jen as I'm curious about that also.
I do all my pages in 12 x 12 but am wondering about resizing them to 8 x10 to upload and print where I get my photos done. Of course have to figure out how to resize without messing things up.

Uhmm... what were you planning on spending? Unfortunately it's pretty pricy everywhere. I think Viovio is cheaper though... And MyPictales is cheaper when there's a sale.

I don't want to spend over $100 if I can help it, lol. right now I am estimating shutterfly will run $120 just for printing, not including shipping and handling.

I've never had anything printed and made into an album. My dd had a book made not too long ago, but I can't remember who she had do it. It was only $12 for a softcover 8x8 book. I know there were other sizes and options. I'll have to ask her who she used.
Jaye- instead of resizing to 8x10 why don't you just resize to 8x8? It will keep the same look in your LO and it will be easier to resize. I have a 8x10 blank page with a white background in photoshop that I paste my LO to (resizing the LO to 8x8 if necessary). Then I save as a jpeg, copy to disc ( or upload to photo printing site) and have them printed as 8x10 enlargements. I usually use Sam's club and it's only $1.40 a print. I just trim the white off at home. Plus 8x8 albums and frames aren't hard to find.
I also print in 8x8 at home from time to time.

Jen, I used Shutterfly in the past, but recently switched to Viovio. I couldn't tell any difference in my books, except that the inside cover and the first "dummy" page (you know that page they stick in extra before your real layout pages start -- I don't know what that page is called) was black instead of white. Other than that, they looked exactly the same and (more importantly) cost WAY less! HTH!

Mine isn't bound---I put mine into a black satin (shiney) top-loading scrapbook album. Its beautiful and almost the FIRST album people pick up when they enter my home and look at my albums!
I got (and get) my 12x12 layouts printed at Scrapbooks To Share (you can Google them) They only charge $2.00 a page for the highest quality paper and ink as well as a flat shipping charge.
What I do is I let my layouts bulk up and then send in a big order of 100-200 layouts, print them and only pay the flat rate shipping charges.
Lise is wonderful, follows up with questions, orders, etc. They are so wonderful to work with. They truly are the ONLY place I will send my layouts to be printed. I dont like my layouts to be bound because then I can move them around, add/remove pages. Not a month goes by that my albums are the same as they were the month before---I love looking at them, watching my children look at them that I have to constantly keep rotating them so we can enjoy them over and over again!

Thank you! That will work very well for me. Appreciate it.
I just ordered an 8x8 custom hardback photo book from Artscow and will let you all know how it looks when it gets here. I joined when they were running a special promotion where you get 400 (200 5x7s and 200 4x6s) free prints plus an 8x8 photo book (30 pages) just for signing up. So with my book I resized a bunch of my 12x12 LOs (thank goodness for WHITESPACE!) and had them printed as 5x7s and 4x6s to give to family. I really can't wait for it all to arrive, and will definitely let you all know when I get it. :)

viovio has great choices price wise so far it seems and I think we are going with them!
OMGosh! I got my book and pictures back, and the quality is AMAZING!!! I am so in love with the book! I absolutely LOVE that you can design your own cover. It is the best photobook I have ever ordered. Here's a couple pix:

Ooo..Mimi, that looks so pretty!! I love this thread...I've only used Shutterfly and Lifetimez (didn't care for the quality/cost of the Lifetimez at all) and I've been looking for other options. Thanks for all of the tips!!

I have a free one too. Just waiting to get enough of one subject to make a book. Be aware that their shipping is like 11.99 per book. So yeah, not so free, but still cheaper than full price.

I saw the talk about artscow and went there. They were doing some kind of promotion and when I ordered my free photo book I was credited with 5 more. The offer does not exist anymore, but when my book arrived yesterday I was given 10 coupon codes for 8x8 30 page photobook for $13.99 each with free shipping. If anyone is interested let me know. I'd be happy to share.

I use Scrapbooks to Share also. I love the quality. I tend to do scrapbooking willy-nilly doing a layout from 1963 then an current day one....etc. So STS is perfect for me. I normally order both the 8x8 ($1,50 each) and the 12 x 12 size ($2.00). That way I can add to each of the kid's albums and have a big one for me. :)

I ordered a photo book from ArtsCow too. I'm pretty happy with it, just a couple things that I could change myself to make it better but the quality is good. It's on the same level as my Shutterfly of the same size!
I have 10 codes for a 30 page photobook for $13.99 with free shipping. If anyone is interested please PM me. The codes expire July 31, 2008 and there's no way I can pull together 10 of them! LOL!
I live in Canada....the shipping and duty alone would kill me :chris:
I think WalMart is doing them now so I may look into that, just send in one page and see how it turns out.
