New - and already making myself comfortable at the Orchard

Hi all!!

Well, since I just completed my first challenge here (technique), I thought I should say HI and introduce myself. I have been reading/lurking since the Scavenger Hunt. I've been a reader of the Sunshine Studio blog since they started out, so I migrated over here with the hunt, and figured I'd hang out some. :)

My name is Brooke. I'm 31, married to Jesse, and mommy of Kourtni (9), Kiana (7) and Jackson who just turned 1 last week. :) I have been scrapping about 6 months, and I LOVE it. My good friend Tanyia, who is a designer, got me into it and helped me getting started. I'm not as good as I'd like to be, but I'm learning. I'm on her CT as well as one other.

I recently lost my EHD during our move. :( I was so upset to loose not only every piece of scrapbooking material I've collected, but also all my sons photos from birth on. So, you'll only see layouts with new photos, unless I put in some of my old at some point.

Can you tell I am chatty? I'll leave ya with that novel. I'm looking forward to hanging around!! It seems like a great place.

So sorry about the loss of your photos. I know how you feel. I lost 2 years worth two months ago that included the first six months of my youngest's life. I've managed to gather some from other people but it's not the same. So you'll only see recent pics or really old ones from me too. LOL.

Hi Brooke, great to see you here at the Orchard. That is tragic about the EHD, you must have been so upset but on the positive side, maybe it can be a good excuse to go out and take heaps of photos and stock up on a few of the latest kits to work with.

Thanks for the welcome ladies!! I'm glad to see the site is back.

I decided to post a few of my newer layouts in the gallery. LUCKILY most of my layouts were at photobucket, so I haven't lost them all, but don't have many on my computer any more. I picked out a few that I did lately to share with you. Hope you will take a look. :)

Make at least two backups periodically. Doing so saved my hide once. I had just done a BU of photos onto cds and my computer rolled over and died a week later...totally unretrievable.

Sometimes I think I do it to overkill, but it's worth it. Welcome...I love it here too! :smile:

Im sorry to hear about your EHD breaking, that's horrible! I lost my daughter's first year photos and I know not a day goes by that Im not kicking myself! Im sorry that you've had to experience that as well.
