All Winter my youngest has been praying for the pool to open. The pool opened two Sunday's ago. Since the pool opened, she's changed her prayers from the pool being opened to "make the pool warm for Mama to swim and for me to swim without my floatie"

So last night after Ballet, I took the girls outside to cool off in the pool (remember we are in a heatwave and on day 6 or 7?) I didn't feel like changing into my bathing suit and figured since the kids were swimming . . . .er . . . .just swimming :doh4: we wouldn't be outside for very long.

We all got to the pool, the girls stripped, and before I was able to get Baleigh's floatie on she was already in the pool bound and determine to swim without her floatie.

Imagine to my shock seeing my just 4 year old swimming to the middle of the pool, taking a deep breath and heading back to the ladder! I thought for sure I was going to have to jump in after her!

So this morning when Baleigh and I went out to swim (we went outside at 9 and it was already 90) I took my camera (both video to send to Josh and photos to believe with my own eyes)

These are just a couple of the photos that I captured of my youngest swimming

I should add that this is the SAME child who has been scared of the pool and water since birth---but after yesterday and today I am convinced this child is just like her mama, a fish!

Im still in a state of shock that my baby is swimming without her floatie---she's still too tiny to be so free

Awww! That's so sweet! Maybe she can teach my girls to swim when we come out! ;)

I'm glad she's doing so well, and that her fear of the water seems to be gone now! (Also glad that she's able to cool off this way!) Give her a BIG hug from me and tell her congratulations! :)

Congrats!! That is so awesome! My dd is still not swimming without her floatie, but she no longer needs to have a death grip on me at the same time, so I consider that progress. This post of yours gives me hope, though!

Way to go, Baleigh! My 5 year is the same way. Could do pretty well even at 3. She has to be half fish! lol

That is so cool. Wish it was warmer here and we would want to jump in a pool.
