Hey guys! :) I was thinking... maybe you are looking for a special themed or color swatch kit that you can't find and you'd love to have one - but alas!
If so - then this thread is for you!
What sort of kits would you like to purchase? Any special theme, style or color swatch?
Feel free to post your kit suggestions and ideas here!
With this thread regularly updated we can keep the store up to your taste making your most unpredictable digiscrappin' dreams come true! :wavehi:
BUT THAT IS NOT ALL! :toot:
At the end of each round we'll be starting a voting poll after which one Scrap Orchard designer volunteers to make a member's choice kit. The coolest part is that the person who initially suggested the winning kit will get it (once it is completed) for FREE!!!:tt1::tt1::tt1:

I'm always in search of beachy but mediterranean inspired kits! Every beach kit I find tends to be more...hawaii/surfer-ish, I'm looking for something a little more...upscale...if that makes any sense

I've been searching for papers or elements that are vintage school themed, like papers that look like the covers or those old exercise books or kits of slate and pencil papers and elements or turnofthecentury style rewards certificates and other school related items. :)

kits to be bought or just a few freebie papers/elements would be nice :)

boys---not toddlers, not preschoolers, not teens...more 'tweens I guess. That group where they're 'too mature' for the little toys but are not yet at the 'I'm all that' stage, LOL. Like a grungy, 'skater dude' kind of style if that makes sense?! Able to use for baseball and hockey pics.

Great thread Irene!!

I'd love to have more kits that are retro vintage. Hard to find though. I'm not talking about scans of old item I'm talking about colors, patterns and stuff from 40's and 50's. In reds, light bright greens, yellows, lighter blues. Something along the same line as Kathryn Balint only more of a everyday, basic kit and not just for kids. Something to scrap pics of my mom and dad with (since that was the era when my mom and dad were first married). I'm tired of heritage items in browns and dull colors. blah.

Oooo, and fun camping kits would be on my list. Something besides pine trees, bears, plaid and wooden elements. Something fun.

ETA- Or retro stuff like Janna Billman used to have (I miss her stuff).

I love this thread, Irene! What a great idea! I'm with Patti, in that I would like to see some camping kits that don't just have pine trees and bears and red flannel blankets. We do a lot of camping, and I always take a ton of photos, but I'm really at a loss for good camping kits.

I would love to see a vintage themed kit with the focus on my favorite flower, the lilac. I just love those flowers and vintage so combined would be great. I also love old houses, the latches, keys and wood inside the houses.

I have two themes that I would LOVE to see...

the first one is a huge birthday kit, suitable for baby, child, woman or man...funky elements, elegant elements...truly a one-size fits all type of birthday collab....

the next is a huge wedding kit, with re-colorable elements to be able to match any wedding colour scheme....

those are MY choices!

I am on the look out for Adoption kits and African American themed children or faces with the fro hair or braids.
I'm on the crest of our 4th girl in 3 years through adoption and have a LOT of pictures to scrap :)

Also on the look out for summery kits with VIBRANT colors but not beach related we don't visit the ocean but swim and park play.

Well you've heard it from me before :wavehi: but I'd really like:

(1) a colourful surf beach kit in your quirky doodle style
(2) Asian inspired kits, I have the current ones but lanterns, red envelopes, and things for next Chinese New Year which is year of the OX - so plenty of time to think on that one
(3) a wine kit, I love holidays in the wine regions so wine bottles, grapes, grape vines, a rose bush, some sort of border with corks or a cork looking paper, wrought iron
(4) a gardening / renovation kit with a wheel barrow, spade, bucket, a leaf heap, any sort of greenery and plants, a paint pot and brush, some paint splats or drips (maybe a border of drips)
(5) Something to use with fireworks at the various celebrations and shows where we try to get the perfect shot, this could be great in a doodly style or with some sparkle
(6) and again some time to think on it but some wearable Christmas stuff to dress up cards and photos using photos like a soft and fluffy santa hat, sexy mrs santa, Santa and summer santa body to impose on face of our choice, some reindeer antlers etc
(7) Road trip stuff that is multi country, everything I have found is very USA. So maybe a road border, a non specific road map backing paper, a map, a frame like a windscreen you are looking out seeing the scene

Anyway I'll leave some space for everyone else. Can't wait till I can buy your kits again!

I haven't seen much for hockey. I'd be interested in something suitable for minor hockey layouts, or first NHL game type of thing.

YES! That is a great idea. I take lots of pictures "thru the windshield" :lolt: and to have a frame shaped like one would give room for a title and journaling--I can think of lots of other uses, too. :hyper:

Hi Irene!
I would love to have a dragonfly in the same shear effect as the batik butterfly from Printemps. A set built around the poppy poster in the Printemps back pack collection would be so beautiful!!! (can you tell I really love the Printemps sets?)

I love the 50's retro style too! The nuculer atom wallpaper and pedal cars, bowling alley, diner and drive-in movie signs. Did they have anything like these in Russia? I have a friend who has a site with retro clipart if you would like to see what he has done.

I love your animals!!! I would love to see you do a kit with jungle animals in it.

I love everything you do and will be really happy when you get your store up and running in the fall!!!

I love all the ideas suggested so far especially the ballet and non traditional heritage colors ideas. Irene I love your whimsical animal kits so definitely would love one of those. I also would like something in black and white with silver or gold to scrap black and white photos. I can hardly wait to see you up and running again. Six months is too long to wait.

I've been searching everywhere for just the right cowboy and cowgirls kits. Nothing southwest or too cutsy. We own horses so I have tons of horse pics, both my girls take riding lessons that I want to scrap and our 2 month old's son's stuff is all horse and western. Different shades of barn red, denim and leather. Horseshoes, saddles, tack, barns, wordart, etc. I haven't yet tried to design any of my own elements or anything but trying to find just what I am after is making me want to figure out how to do everything - only thing is everyone uses photoshop and I have DIP so the tutorials are extremely limited.

Me too, I need Ballet stuff. Also I would like to see something with a Southern Belle scene (Civil War Era). House like Tara, Dresses etc. I like the dresses that you designed for Halloween and the gowns. Also love paperdolls (realistic) that you can dress up digitally. My two cents anyway....Jackie

Oh I would love a doodle-y miniature golf kit!!! Bowling too!!! All the different things that kids do where we take action shots, so we can doodle up the page - carnival, zoo, baseball, skating, swimming, biking, etc.

But mostly miniature golf and BOWLING!!!!! http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd317/JakesNana/Bowling/110103_bowling_prv.gif

I need something with tractors. Not necessarily farm and farm animal related stuff, just tractors. We're really into tractors at our house. All the boys have them. DH has 2 old AC's and the boys all have lawn tractors modified for the mud. So I need some type of tractor theme without the farm. :)

*~*~* PAPER AIRPLANES!! *~*~*

:woot:

No piece of paper is safe around my 8 year-old son. From dinner napkins and church bulletins to unpaid bills and sticky notes, I've seen planes of every shape and size. I keep telling him he needs to go into aviation engineering! LOL

I'm in the process of making him a quilt with some airplane fabric that I found (I have a jpg if you want to see, send me a PM). I would love to have a few scrapbook pages of him with paper airplanes buzzing around.

Maybe some bright colors --blues and reds-- but not strict primary colors. Could also throw in some origami symbols (e.g., from a "how to fold" book) and aviation word art.

That kit would ROCK!!!!!

VEGAS BABY! I sooo need a cool Vegas kit for my wedding and honeymoon but we don't really gamble so I don't want the whole kit to be like that. I don't know how to explain but Vegas style with more than just gambling. Like somehow "larger than life". ROFL I am no help heehee.

I agree with chellebelle, but more than just Vegas...I'd like to see Big City items, like landmarks and things you automatically think of when you mention cities like New York, Boston, Vegas, etc..., even if it's just the elements, without papers!

What a great thread! Y'all have some awesome ideas!

As I was reading through this I was thinking, ok - I've seen that kind of kit at X place OR - ya, know that's a kit I haven't ever seen before!

Great ideas!! The designers have alot to work on now & it's cool to see the new goodies in the gallery & how they match what you've described!!!

I'll add my .02 here - I'm looking for a pet kit. Ya know, paw prints, bones, yarn, word art specifically for pets, something pretty universal. That may be difficult to create one kit for all the possible pets out there so maybe you could break them down into mini kits specific to dogs, cats, birds, fish, ferrets, ... etc! :tt1:

Ok, I have another suggestion...what about a Doctor's visit/Hospital Stay/Boo-Boo kit? My son will be having surgery next month and I was just thinking, I haven't really seen any of those around - Not that I'm all happy about it, but this will be something major in his life and unforgettable, and I'd really like to scrapbook it!

I also think it would be cute to document those first year doctor's visits - where you get the weight, height, etc...

~Cathi~
07-24-2008, 11:49 PM
I was going to suggest something like that too Jemenifer.. my son had surgery last year, and my daughter this year, so I'd like to be able to scrap those as well, but can't find a kit like that at all!

Also a cool kit would be say a bathroom kit, with shampoo bottles, bubbles, toothpaste and toothbrushes! I had fun last night taking pics of my youngest two brushing their teeth, and wanted something to go with that!

My daughter and son-in-law are leaving tonight for a month long adventure traveling both those countries and of course I want to be able to scrap an album for them, so would love to see traveling kinds of elements too...but just not 'cutesy' or kidish...if that makes sense..

*lol* I'm all for the Pet Invasion kit. My boyfriend's parents "found" a sweet little cat, never knowing she was pregnant (he calles her the Trojan horse) and now they have 5 cats... The big Mama is now very old. Whenever we sit down she is brashly...well, let's say... encouraging everyone to pet her.

Hm, but I adore her nevertheless. Does it count then???

I could really use a soccer kit for a teenage girl! The ones I've seen are usually fairly masculine. Her team colors are blue & yellow (hint, hint:wink:). I'd love to do a tag or coaster album for my dd, but haven't seen anything I can really work with. There's tons for baseball, but not soccer.
