So, I decided I'm going to scrap my weight loss. But, I'm having an issue w/ the before photos. I'm doing a plan with other people so there's a message board I'm a part of. Everyone's before and after shot shows them in very vulnerable photographs. Like one woman was in a bathing suit or shorts and a tank top. A man in shorts w/ his belly hanging out. The before ones are really shocking. But as you see the progression you become amazed and encouraged. and it's even more impressive to see the dramatic change. And I want my photographs to be encouraging to me when I look at them. But, I can't get myself in a bikini or even shorts! In mine I'm in sweats and t-shirt.

What about you? Would you go all out? It just seems so terrifying.

I think I'd be too chicken to post a pic like that, however, I might take one just for myself...a picture really does show your progress much better than the mirror!

For mine I wore a work-out tank and shorts. I appreciated seeing it later on. I was glad I did it. It was scary to look at the before, but I can tell you I don't want to look like that again!

I wouldn't, but then again I never get in front of the camera!
I think its great being able to see the progression of the weight loss---a lot of my friends have been showing me pictures and just to see what each month to month photos look is just tremendous!

Im not brave enough to get in front of the camera while Im completely dress, I know I can't guts it up and do so in a bathing suit, let alone my undergarments!

That's a darn good idea. Not revealing but showing enough!!

True true!! But, I don't need to post the picks right? This is my weightloss... One for myself or all for myself :) I can show the sweats on and the after when I get there in the same thing. But for me I can take a photo w/ shorts and tank and keep it all to me.

Thank you!!

the work out clothes idea is brilliant! i think i'd go with that too! somethings just don't need to be revealed (skinny or not) and stretch marks are one of those things (for me at least) ROFL!!

Maybe you could set up a tripod or get a trusted love one to take the workout clothes or swimsuit photos now and put them aside in a drive somewhere to do your final before and after layout - hey you can always delete them but a bit tricky when you are looking slim and fabulous and wish you had the full on before shot. You can always use your fully clothed ones for your layout now or keep it just for your own motivation, you don't have to share.

Marjorie, first congratulations on your dedication to do this.
I'm with the rest of the girls, no bathing suit or undies pic for me, love Elaine's idea of the workout clothes.
Good luck to you, and look forward to hearing updates about how you're doing

I can't even look at myself in the mirror......I too am trying to loose weight (have lost a little already) but no way would I take a photo of myself in my undies and bra or in a swimmers (don't even own a pair of swimmers LOL). I would go with the gym pants and top maybe??? Congrats on taking the commitment

That's true. I don't know I guess seeing everyone else's pictures and being so revealing ah I guess I thought I had to be that way too... Not any more!!! LOL they definitely don't need to see more than what I let them and they can see me fully clothed..lol

I just did a layout of my weight loss. I had pictures that showed me fully clothed. They actually did an ad about my weight loss. If I can do it, anyone can! I have a serious sugar addiction! :) Unfortunately I have gained back about 20 pounds. :( But That's still better than it was. (Image is linked to the gallery.)

:yesssmileyf: Wow Elaine! I am impressed! Thanks for sharing your weight loss, it's very inspirational!

See - Elaine's pix showed a significant loss in before & after, without having a revealing pic for the before shot!

I would be way too ashamed to be in a bathing suit. There are just some things you don't want documentation of! Workout shorts & a tank top would be sufficient.
