I finally learned how to make my own glitter! But now I want to save it as a style. I can't find a tutorial on saving it as a style. Do I have to save it as a pattern then apply the pattern and save that? I am using PS CS3 but if you know how to do it using a lower version then maybe I can figure it out by that. Any help would definately be appreciated. I am pulling my hair out trying to figure this out!

TIA
Jessica

Hi Jessica!
You are on the right path. I tried for months in learning how to make a style. Finally one day it clicked---I HAD to save it as a pattern in order to be able to use it and save as a style!

So to answer, YES you need to define the pattern.
After that open a new canvas at 1000 x 1000 pixels (Dont know why, just what I read and was told!) paint the canvas and then apply the pattern. Adjust the settings that you want it to look and then you press "Save Style" located in the upper right hand corner of that dialogue box.
Type in your style and instantly it will appear in your styles area.

Does that make sense, or do you want pictures? :D

You are most welcome!

There is also a tutorial out there for making your styles seamless. Its a long and windy tutorial, but if you ever want to know how to make it seamless I can quickly show you using CS3 since it is different than CS2 (atleast from what that tutorial said!) :lolt:

Actually I figured it out. Obsidian Dawn has a good tutorial that works perfect for glitter. I can see how it would be really hard for other things though. All you really do is use the clone brush!

Thanks for all your help!

I'm in the same boat. Patterns confuse me. I have the hardest time with them!

That would be good if you could direct us to this tutorial. I have CS3, myself. Having used the earlier editions as a trial, I haven't had that much experience. But, I'm learning new things everyday. LOL

Thank you,
