Hello everyone in the orchard! My name is Sabrina, aka proverbswoman, and now that the forum is up and running I just wanted to start a thread where people can introduce themselves (if they want) so we can get to know each other a little better.
I'm from the midwest, and I live on a farm with my husband of 11 years and our two gorgeous kids. You'll be seeing a lot of them in the gallery, b/c they're my photography subjects most of the time! I love to sing, read, go camping, and most of all, digiscrap!! I gave up paper a few years ago b/c I didn't like not being able to "undo" my mistakes! (Also, I had a lot of supplies that I never used b/c I was waiting for that perfect LO!)
Can't wait to get to know more people here! I'm loving all the beautiful LO's in the gallery! We've definitely got a whole lot of talented people at the orchard.

Hello! I'm Elaine, aka ehooton. I'm so excited to get to be lead moderator here on the Scrap Orchard. I only recently started digi-scrapping. I have done a couple paper layouts, but I never really did get into that much because of the time, space and cost involved.
I am mostly a stay-at-home mom, partly a secretary at a United Methodist church and always an associate pastor under my hubby, the senior pastor at an Assembly of God church in a small town in Michigan.
I love to digi-scrap, read, make button necklaces and waste time on the internet. :)

Hi my name is Christine Ousley, aka christinescraps and I am so excited to get involved in Srap Orchard's community. I live in Birmingham, Alabama and I have been scrapping for about 12 years now. I just recently fell in love with digi scrapping when I took my first Jessica Sprague class in January. Because I was already very familiar with Photoshop it was a smooth transition for me to go to digi scrapping. I scrap on a Mac and love my Canon 20d. I used to own a photography business when I lived in Florida but now I just take pictures of my 2 children for fun. I have a 15 year old daughter and a 9 year old Son who are the stars of all my layouts. My husband is a wonderful man and totally supports my scrapbooking mania.
I am really excited about all the great kits and layouts that I have seen lately at ScrapOrchard. I can't wait to see how this site grows.

hey christine... i'm not far from royal oak ! I'm near Sterling Heights, do you know that area? our city is actually small but we border sterling !
Wish i was in florida! lol We went down there a couple years ago to see if there was work hubby could do. His cousin owns a marble and tile company. It's just not the same anymore. With all the foreign people in florida willing to work cheap you can't really make a living at tile work anymore down there. Too hard and not enough money ! lol I LOVE LOVE LOVE florida !!!
My sister is in alabama ! near ozark i think.

Hi everybody! I am Tami (most of you probably know that already because of the blog!LOL) I live about 50 miles south of Chicago. I'm a very happy stay-at-home-mommy to my (mostly) sweet little girls! I'm really crafty but digiscrapping is by far my most addictive craft! I am really excited to be here and can't wait to get to know everyone!!!

Hi everyone, my name is Kelly. I am a SAHM to 3 girls who are 16 (17 in a few weeks), 9 and 3. My husband is active duty army and we are currently living in Germany. I have been digiscrapping off and on for I guess a little over a year now, but I have been involved in some type of graphic stuff off and on for years now. I do love scrapping, but my time seems to come and go alot with the girls and hubby being deployed. I had a huge pity party for myself for a few months after he deployed and I'm really trying to get in the swing of things again with scrapping. Looking forward to getting to know you all a little better :)

Hi, I'm Suzy (aka suzyqscraps). I'm a SAHM of a 5-month-old boy...you'll see a lot of him in the gallery. We recently moved to my father-in-law's ranch so my husband could work for the family business (they own a rock quarry...not much ranching now). We live in the middle of nowhere, near the Utah/Nevada border. I'm LOVING it out here (and eating my words, b/c when we got married I said I'd never be able to live out here).
I just started digi scrapping this year...but I spent most of last year doing a lot of research on digi scrapping b/c I've never enjoyed paper scrapping. Digi scrapping is so addicting! I love that I can redo anything, try several different things, change colors, flip, rotate, etc., etc. Have I mentioned that I'm addicted to this new hobby? I'm so glad that my dh is so supportive! (He even gives me ideas for LOs sometimes.)
When I'm not scrapping, and not wrapped up taking care of my baby, I enjoy reading and playing video games. (Yes, my first date with my dh was playing a computer game!)
So nice to get to know some of the people here!
P.S. Can someone explain blinkies to me? (I'm such a noob!) How do you get them?
Hello everyone, my name is Joanne (aka jaye). I live in Ontario, Canada, not far from Detroit Michigan actually, it's literally across the river and over the bridge (45 minute drive). I discovered digital scrapping by accident and am now totally hooked.
I am the mom of a pretty cool 10 year old boy who keeps me busy with hockey and baseball. I work full time as a youth counsellor at an elementary school and volunteer for the Cancer Society.

Hey everyone! My name is Alice! I live in sunny sunny California--though the part I live in isn't always so sunny. Lol. But I love it anyways! I'm completely addicted to digital scrapping. I dabbled a little in it back in June last year but only made three layouts before completely forgetting about it. Early February I picked it up again and haven't stopped since! I'm looking forward to meeting all of you girls. I already know some of you, but I'm really enjoying looking through the gallery so I'd love to get to know more of you!
Suzy as for blinkies you can generally find them on the websites of the designers, blogs, forums, etc... Once you find one you like than you save it and upload it to photobucket or something and put it in your signature! Hope that helped. ^^

Howdy! My name is Melisa.. I go by Mel. I am a 29-year old, single-mom of four fur-babies (2 Chihuahuas and 2 cats). I am originally from a small Army town in Southeast Arizona. On a risky whim, I packed up everything I could fit in my car and moved to Austin, Texas in September 2002. I am currently in the process of moving back to Arizona for medical reasons.
For the past 10 or so years, I had worked in billing departments, call centers, doctor office's and hospitals. In July 2007, I was offered a job as a Web/Graphic Designer for a company I had previously done freelance work for; I, obviously, accepted the position in a heartbeak. Currently, I am a Web/Graphic Designer for a company based in the D.C. area, which means, I have the privilege of being able to work from home.. and it freakin' rocks!
I am also a Certified Personal Trainer, as well as a 3rd Degree Black Belt. I have bveen studying Taekwondo for the past 15 years and couldn't imagine my life with out it. It is truly my "First Love". I have been out of competition for the last couple of years, but plan to begin training again (getting in shape, loosing excess poundage) and hope to compete in the 2009 US Open. Wish me luck!
I started digiscrapping in December 2007, so I am still fairly new to the craft and feel I still have a lot to learn, but I have been fortunate to surround myself with insanely talented people/designers and plan to milk them for all their worth! On a related note, Kami of Ziggle Designs is my big sis (she is the one who got me hooked on digiscrapping.. darn her!).
I am the Webmistress for Scrap Orchard (so if anything on the site does not work, it's most likely my doing!) and Scrap Orchard (Pineapple Plantation Designs & Ziggle Designs) Creative Team Lead.
I am so excited about Scrap Orchard and can't wait to see our little orchard grow!!

and as far as blinkies go...we do have some from our designers here in the gallery. If you click the gallery link then go to blinkies & banners you can copy the url and then go to your control panel here at the forum and hit edit signature and then "insert image" and then paste the url into that box that comes up. Save it...then it will be in your siggy ! if you need any help at all just hollar !
Hi I'm Jennifer, but usually everyone calls me Jen, except my boyfriend of almost 4 years (he doesn't like nicknames). I am 23 and almost in my third year of medical school in Fort Worth, TX. I started digiscrapping back in January. I originally got started because I was working on a paper scrapbook for my boyfriend and didn't finish before I had to go back to class. I designed some LOs using photoshop, so that all he had to do was paste stuff on the pages like the picture. Soon after, through some google searching, I found out that this whole online community existed for digital scrapbooking. I have been addicted every since.

Hi.
Fun to read about all of you. I am Kathy, mom to 2 teenagers - Ellary and Jared. My husband owns a landscape design and construction company here in the north metro of the Twin Cities, MN. I am also a Realtor.
My digi scrappin' anniversary came up a week ago. Took me forever to get that first page up but once I did I loved it as I had been losing my paper mojo for the past year. I haven't paper scrapped since but I hope to one of these days. Started scrapping fall of 2007 so have been at it for awhile.
I am so loving hanging in the orchard and meeting all of you.
I can get blinkied now that I have a new computer - my right click save image didn't work on my old computer which is currently in the shop.

Hi everybody! :) My name is Sally and I live in the Southwest Corner of Kentucky. I'm a SAHM to one 10 year old daughter. I'm also engaged to a really fabulous guy who thinks my dd makes the world spin, so life is pretty good, lol. You'll see a lot of them in my LOs because, well, I think they're pretty good scrapping subjects, lol. I started playing around with digi-scrapping last fall, and am now totally addicted. Unfortunately, having a very busy 10 year old (soccer, school, Odyssey of the Mind, etc etc etc) and being the "typical" soccer mom who's involved in everything she does, prevents me from having as much time as I'd like to spend scrapping, I manage to find a couple hours a day to play.
I've really enjoyed reading about everyone and can't wait to get to know you all better!
Oh, and Tammy...my family is all from around Detroit, my grandfather taught in Westland for 30 years at John Glenn High.

My name is Wendy, I am the name behind Neverland Scraps.
I have been digital scrapping for over two years and designing for about that time as well!! My husband is Active Duty Army Chaplain Assistant. As I've mentioned above, he is currently deployed. He has been deployed since Sept '07. With his deployment, scrapping and designing keep me sane and busy!
We have two daughters, Madalyn and Baleigh. My baby will be turning four this Saturday *sniff sniff* The girls and I currently reside in PA. When it gets closer to DH's return, we will be moving upstate NY (right outside Canada) Oh yeah, we are also going to Disney when DH returns from Iraq! It will be our first family vacation and we've been married for over 10 years!

Hi everyone, I'm Erin. I'm a stay at home mom to one 20 month old son -- you'll see a lot of him in my layouts! We just moved to Utah but have spent the last 10 years living in Southern California. I'm still trying to get used to the snow and the cold!
I'm pretty new to digital scrapbooking -- I've been a paper scrapper for years, and have also used Photoshop for years for my photography ... well, recently I found those two worlds colliding and I've been in love ever since!

Hi Everyone!
I'm Jennifer, and I am a self proclaimed blogaholic and digiscrapaholic. My husband is Active Duty Army and we are currently stationed near Naples, Italy on NATO orders, so it is quite different from life in America like I am used to. I started dabbling with photoediting and basic digiscrapping in November 2006, right after we moved overseas, and dived head first in October 2007 when I started haunting freebie blogs daily. I soon discovered Shauna's(pineapple plantation) blog and began stalking her daily for her wonderful freebies, and when she announced her move here I anxiously awaited the store and everything to open.
I am a SAHW for the moment, but teach violin lessons out of my home and am the secretary of the family support group for the Army familes here. I am a stepmom of 2, and DH and I are trying to add to our family tree. My cats and digiscrapping are the two things that keep me sane when DH is deployed and TDY, so you will see a ton of layouts from me about my kitties.
I think I just wrote a book, so I should probably put down the sugar and hit post so that I don't scare anyone off. I love forums and am thrilled to have this one to add to my list!

WOO HOO for Army Wives! We ROCK! LOL Hello... my name is Shauna and I'm the loud one on the blog (or pretty much anywhere I go for that matter) I'm one of the designers/co-owners here at Scrap Orchard as well as being a "Sunshine Girl" and lovin' my own little ol' blog for Pineapple Plantation Designs.
I'm a SAHM of three 15 YO DD, 13 YO DD and 8 YO DS and you probably WON'T be seeing much of them in the gallery (because seriously? WHO has time to scrap these days? LOL) My husband Chris is an Active Duty Infantry First Sergent and currently we're stationed here in Hawaii (although I'd give a kidney to go to Germany or Italy!!!) but we're in the process of PCSing (army speak for moving) to New Jersey (assuming of course that dh isn't stop lossed and heading to Iraq AGAIN - third time WOULD be the charm right?) For those of you with deployed dh's... hang in there girls... they'll be home soon, and in the meantime WE'LL keep you company!!
I look forward to getting to know you all a bit better!!!

Well I just found this site via a post on a South African digital site where I am on the CT. I live in a town near Johannesburg in South Africa called Benoni which I am told is Hebrew for son of my sorrows ( the passage in Genesis telling how Rachel had died after bearing her son Benjamin 'and he was named Benoni, Son of my Sorrow'.)
I am probably the grandma here on this site as I have two grown daughters (35 and 32) and two grandchildren (12 and 10)
My DH lives and works in the United Arab Emirates and we have been married for too many years to count. Actually married to him for 15 years divorced for 5 and then remarried for 15 years. So you can see not all there in the head. Actually that must be my grandma I am talking about cause I Ain’t that old surely.
We met when he was a Petty Officer in the Royal Navy and I was a degausser in The Royal Navel Reserve.
I love Africa and can understand Livingstone’s feelings about it. I was born and brought up in Scotland near Edinburgh.
I work full time as a Mortgage Agent; I am addicted to scrap booking and love digital but my great love is all things altered. I am currently working on altered dominoes using Tim Holtz Inks and a Puzzle mini book for my granddaughter’s 13 Birthday.
I am also an aspiring designer and busy doing a mentorship programme to get that right.
I have had a few commissions for books for people retiring or birthdays etc. and love making albums from scratch such as paper bag books and mini works.
Okay before I write a book that is just a little bit about me.
Jessie

I am so excited to see all the posts here. It is so cool to see people of such various backgrounds in so many parts of the world with a common thread of their love of digiscrapping! Awesome!!
Hi everyone!
My name is Julie ( JAB). I live in a suburb of Atlanta.
I have 2 wonderful --yet high maintance--children who are 6 and 3. I have been digiscrapping for less then a year...and am completely addicted. I recently ( this week) took a leave of absence from my job--so I guess that makes me a SAHM. :)
I love this site and look forward to getting to know everyone!

Wow! It's so fun to see all these military families. My dad was in the Air Force for 23 years--he retired when I was a teenager. He currently works for a company that has military contracts. Right now he's in Iraq offering tech support for some technology that he helped design. He'll be back in July. Wish my mom would get into this digi scrap stuff so she could get some support from people like you who know what it's like. The civs back home just don't quite understand. It's not a business trip for 4 months. It's a war zone.
Anyway, it's great getting to know all of you better!

Hi! My name is KrisG (I used KrisG because there's soooo many Kris's out there in scrapland). I live in the Chicago suburbs, about 30 minutes west of the city, with my hubby and my OLD cat. We also have a half dozen cats that visit us frequently just to be fed, LOL. We don't have animal control so we just keep feeding 'em!
Let's see... I am homebound due to migraines almost daily but will spend hours on the computer if I'm up to it. I am bound and determined to learn this scrappin' stuff.... and would REALLY love to learn to design but that's only a dream at the moment. I need to learn first, haha. I started scrapping because I have soooo many pictures of my grandchildren that I wanted to do something unique. I haven't started a real book yet because I'm trying to learn and get GOOD before I start up that huge of a project! In the meantime, just about every LO that I do is of my grandkids or kids.
That's about it! I'm glad to be here and meeting some great people here.
welcome EVERYONE! this is awesome!! so glad you found us!

Again... welcome all!
SuzyScraps... tell your mom to come on over here! LOL we DO seem to be attracting a large military family group! (YAY!) and I totally agree on your statement. It's one thing to support the military and their families when you haven't been there yourself, but it's quite another to get the support of people who know EXACTLY what you are going through... so tell her to come on over to the orchard... WE'LL keep her company until you dad gets back! LOL :)

There does seem to be a large group of us military families floating around on here :) You know I have heard that about the civilian life as well. One of my friend's husband just retired and they moved to SC, but about 90 miles from Ft. Jackson so not any military around and the school system gave them such a hard time about the kids missing 2 weeks of school. 2 weeks during a PCS move is of course nothing for our kids...lol Her husband is working a contract position at Jackson so they will be moving to Columbia this summer and she can't wait to get close to a military community again. I guess when it's all you know then it's home.

Both Kami and I grew up as Army Brats.. I was married, briefly, to someone in the Army. So although I am not a Military Wife, I *do* understand your hardships and fully support our troops and their families.
Best thing about growing up in/around the Army, all the holidays we got in school! I have noticed while living here in Austin that they don't get half of the holidays we got.. sucks to be them!

TammyKat, which suburb. I was born in Royal Oak, MI and lived in Pontiac and Waterford until I was 12 which is when we moved to Florida. Were you anywhere near there?
Oh wow! I'm originally from Waterford and moved when I was 12! My parents moved to northern Michigan after my dad retired from GM. I would have much rather moved to Florida. lol.
Anyway, onto my intro-
I'm a sahm to 5. Ages 21, 19, 17 1/2, 4 1/2, and 6 months. One girl and four boys! I have been married just about 9 years. This is my second marriage (the reason for the big gap in kids ages) I live in northern Michigan, near Traverse City, the Cherry Capital  Where the population doubles in the summer. Gotta love tourist season.
I have various hobbies but at the moment the only one I have time for is digi scrapping. I find I'm spending way too much time on the computer these days so maybe that qualifies as an addiction rather than a hobby!

I'll introduce myself now. I'm Michelle and I'm a SAHM to my almost 6 month old daughter, Eliana. I started digi-scrapping in probably January when I realized I was never going to finish my daughter's scrapbook the "old-fashioned" way. I take far too many pictures and make far too many scrap pages of them, but I can't help myself. I was a paper scrapper for almost 10 years before I switched to digital.

Welcome to you both, Patti and Elaine! We're so glad you're here. Patti, I'm with Shauna. It amazes me that you made it through teenagers and decided to have more! Although my mom had my brother 14 years before she had me, so I guess I shouldn't be all that amazed! :)
scrappinmint, did you have those babies just so you'd have cute photos to scrap... ? ROFL!! OMG! I wanna know when you have TIME to scrap!! (and i mean because of the raising the babies and not because of the makin' the babies...oh.. i'll just stop talking now)

ROFL-I don't think it was courage, more like temporary insanity!

LOL, actually the scrapbooking came after the babies. Well, except for the last one. However they are the reason I've switched to digi. I have no time to scrap with paper anymore. Not to mention no room for supplies with all of them still at home.

Hi everybody! :) My name is Sally and I live in the Southwest Corner of Kentucky.
Sally, I'm thinking that we're pretty close to you. I live a few miles outside Jackson, TN. I went to college at UT Martin - we'd go to Paducah for everything then. Maybe we could meet up sometime? :cowboy:
