View Full Version : October 2008: The Little Things
It's the little things in life that matter. We've all heard that saying before and it is so true. Sometimes, when we're having a bad day or feeling really down, the tiniest thing can pick us back up... seeing a puppy playing in the park or having a stranger hold the door open for you, even a friendly smile from a passerby.
This month- think of the little things. What small, seemingly insignificant thing brings you joy or peace, cheers you up or makes your day? Tell us what it is about it what means to much to you. It seems we can all use some extra "little things" these days to help us deal with all the stresses of every day life, so let's share our "little things" with each other!!
For an added challenge, let's try our hand at extractions (need some tips on extraction... check out the DST October Newsletter for a helpful tutorial)! If you can, take a picture of your "little thing" and extract it for your layout!
Post your layouts in the Bring It Gallery (http://scraporchard.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=630)with a link here so we can all leave you lots of love!! The deadline to post is October 31.

Oh this sounds great. I liked the theme for September and wanted to participate but the month just flew by too fast. I'll try to do better this month.

I tried extracting and got very frustrated!!! So it's okay if we don't? Cause my screen is going to have a nice hole in it soon if I keep trying ... LOL

Here is one for this challenge- I get much pleasure from seeing any bird or animal (however common it is) up close. I extracted part of the squirrel but not all of him- hope that is ok.

I tried to do an extraction, but short of pulling my hair out, decided against it.
Here's my take on the challenge...

Here is my take on this challenge, I have to say after 2 days of attempting extractions I gave up for now. I have a new respect for those of you who do it on your layouts.

I'm kinda glad to see that others have trouble with extractions! I do too! But I am going to try again for this challenge! I really do want to use them at times!

Here is mine. I was glad to see an extraction challenge. I have fun doing that, but haven't tried to be too creative. Thanks for the push! And thanks for letting me get a little sensitive. After today, I needed to reflect a little.

I had to try this because I had never done an extraction before, so hopefully this doesn't look too bad....
My youngest daughter, Ashlyn, loves the slide out back and is so happy when we go outside so she can go down it a million times! It always brings a smile to my face watching her be so happy!!
Here is my LO, Diving Down the Slide (http://scraporchard.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=15486)!

omg i love this and i love that i'm not the only one that loves the weeds i get as presents!!! zoe loves picking "flowers" for me and i'd rather have a vase full of her "flowers" than a vase full of long stem roses!!

I loved this challenge. It made me think about all those little things that I take for granted. I did one page but I also have a second one in the works.
