Well.. since the last one was depressing Shauna.. and no one wants Shauna not happy..! :shudder:
I decided to post another random question.. mostly because I have yet to get to bed and have been stuck watching late late late night television.. and it sucks!
So here are my question(s):
How many of your have purchased something off an infomercial? What was it? Did it work like they said it would? Would you buy it again or recommend we buy it?

Only thing I've ever bought off an infomercial was a CD collection. I don't know if any of you have seen it, but there has been an infomercial going on for a couple months about the Ultimate Rock Ballads. Well, I bought it, and I have to say I've been thrilled with it. It's got all the songs I remember from growing up and there's not a single song in the whole collection I don't know. It's fun to pop in one of the CD's and just let it go, cause I know every song is going to be a good one, and they're not all slow syrupy songs either, lol. (So if you're a child of the 70's/80's and you liked all those "hair bands" lol (poison, reo speedwagon, etc etc etc) I would definitely recommend this collection!)
Oh, and I also bought the Time-Life Traeasury of Christmas set a few years ago too, lol, cause Christmas is huge in our house, and I always have Christmas music playing during that time of year.

Well, I've never bought anything off an informercial, but there's lots of things I've thought about buying. You just never know whether they'll actually work like they say, kwim? So I'm going to be watching this thread to see what others post. Maybe I'll find something I need, I mean want, to buy! :)

I was going to say no because I haven't but my DD, at about the age of 10 or 11, fell in love with the CD ad for Ann Murray, I think her name was, and I ended up buying it at Wal-mart - spendy CD that got played all of one time maybe.

:omg: I bought these too ! :roflmao:
The time life treasury of christmas is SOOOO used !! We listen to it constantly at xmas time !! We are one of those families that start listening to xmas music before Thanksgiving ! :giggle:
I don't buy a whole lot from tv anymore though. Sometimes I will watch QVC and really want to buy something.

My DS discovered the Trans Siberian Orchestra this past Christmas season and now months later, I occasionally hear a few Christmas tunes which drives my DD nuts.

It has an infomercial, but I bought it with a coupon at a local store - the Magic Bullet. This thing really does all it says it will! I use mine every morning for a protein shake. It's so quick! I use plain yogurt, cocoa, crushed ice, a bit of water and protein powder and pop it on the blender. Zip, it's done and I'm drinking it while I'm rinsing the blade. It ROCKS! It's the perfect breakfast on the go to get the kids situated and off to school. I also use it for salad dressings, guacamole and almond butter.
I have also bought things off of QVC on those scrapbooking days. Some of the kits I've gotten in the past were totally awesome and others were near instant give aways to friends.
I saw it on an infommercial but bought it at a store, it was the pasta cooker tube thing. Um, glad I bought it on clearance for $6.00, cooked the pasta but it broke when we washed it in the top rack of the dishwasher. Apparently it wasn't dishwasher safe as reported.

LOL Tammy...we do too, my tree goes up Thanksgiving night and the Treasury of Christmas disks go into the CD player and don't come out til New Year's.
Pam...thank you for putting that in here! DF and I have been seriously thinking of buying it and were afraid it wouldn't really work the way it says it does...Now that you've said that, think I'll tell him we should go ahead and get it

Do any of you remember the eurosealer? It's this small hand-held thing that seals bags back up! Yep, I bought it off an infomercial and yes, it works and it's fun. I hardly ever use it though...but I'm one of those people that sees something on TV and just has to have it. Luckily, now that I'm married, Nick keeps me from buying too many!

That's hilarious because every time we see an infomercial DH turns to me and says I know you want it ROFL! Usually I do but I never have bought anything from one.
DH bought me those "pasta pots" that the lid was a strainer on clearance one year...yeah ummm they were not worth the $6 he paid for them lol! I am also the proud owner of a Magic Bullett myself (I hear it's good)...but I bought it at Costco, I bought it cuz I was craving smoothies :droolt: (darn preggie hormones) and still haven't used it. Guess the cravings were for someone else to make the smoothies vs the smoothies themselves! :tongue_smilie:
The newest one that keeps catching my eye is the ShamWow, lol...looks good but unless it comes to a store I won't buy it.

Oh, I have seen a few things that looked super neat! But I've never bought anything. We have a store at an outlet Mall North of us, that has a "As Seen On TV" store! I figure, if there's something I really, really, really wanted...I'd check there! (would save the cost of shipping that way)

I was helping my friend make salsa for her work's Cinco De Mayo feast and she had just gotten this slick chopper, as seen on TV, for 20 bucks at Linen and Things and it was the coolest gadget ever. I hate cutting with knifes so I thought it was the coolest.

Ooh, I've got that Magic Bullet, too (my mom bought it for us -- not off the infomercial, but at a store). It's pretty handy! Great for smoothies or making baby food.
My mom also got me an AeroGarden-Mini (anybody seen the informercials for those?) It grows flowers indoors without soil and was especially nice to have in the wintertime.
