That I am doing my wedding album with so many very different kits? someone on another site told me it was stupid and wasn't going to look good, but I like how it is. Am I just weird? I don't really think any scrapbook HAS to be the same color scheme throughout, that would get really monotonous to me to scrap, especially if it was a big book!:wavehi:

I'm with you. I can see how one kit would look nice, but I would get bored, too. Besides, people don't do that with paper scrapping either. Can you imagine if all the pages were the same? Each page should reflect the quaalities you are highlighting in those photos.

I perfer scrapbooks that have many kits too. I don't think it's wierd at all! from the pages I've seen, it's gorgous!!!
um... well first of all, who told you it would look stupid?:ignore:
second of all, it's YOUR book! you do what you want! and i totally agree, that's the point of scrapbooks! there are so many different things but when you put them all together they look beautiful!!

Psh! That person is silly.
I rarely even have TWO pages that match... I'm actually going to be putting together a book for my teacher soon and I KNOW that I'll be using lots of different kits. I MIGHT have two pages from each kit but I'm not even sure of that yet. Each book has it's own personality and yours is going to be absolutely gorgeous!!

Okay, first off "it takes one to know one" so if she called it stupid, dump her as a friend! Seriously, who is she to tell YOU how YOUR album should look???
I worked in a scrapbook store for many years and always told beginners working on a gift album (be it wedding or baby) to stick to a recurrent color theme so the pages would flow together. However, for the advanced scrappers - and really, any digi scrapper falls into that category, especially YOU! LOL - do what you think looks best for you!!
And post those pages so we can see them too!!!

:omg: I think it's wrong to criticize anyone's artwort! Art is in the eye of the beholder and if you like it, then it's beautiful. Of course, it's nice to have someone else say it looks nice but truth be told...it's for you, not her. And, if she wants all her stuff to look the same, then great for her. But keep your "stupid" opinions to yourself unless someone asks you! So there.
BTW, I think your pages are simply beautiful. You are using a lot of different kits but your pages all flow the same, they focus more on the photos than the papers and I like them...not that it matters:winkt:
These pages are of a wonderful day in your life that you want cherish. Each photo represents something different about that day. and When you chose a colour, element or layout it is to evoke a certain emotion and/or memory of that moment in your life, so if you look at a picture and 'feel' it should be done in blue tones than that's the right decision for that page.

Well Im one of the few that has 20 pages using the same kit for her wedding album. However I have to say that I used Pajama's for Love Charity kit--which was loaded with oodles and oodles of papers, elements, templates, quickpages, etc that I could have scrapped another 20 more pages using the same kit and not ever duplicate the same element it was that big!!
However with that said, all my other "every day" albums do not match. I agree that I like them to match the theme of the layout, the playfulness of the girls, or the grumpiness...something.
Im sorry that someone said that you. That's one of those things that it is a "to each their own" just because that's how I'd do it, doesn't necesarily mean they'll do it that way. That's what makes us so unique and an individual.
I hope when its completed you'll be able to show her the album and tell her how beautiful you think it is and how much you and your DH love looking at it. I mean seriously is your husband going to care that its scrapped with multiple kits or not? No, he's just going to enjoy reminicising with you!

I can't believe someone actually said it was stupid! :omg:They were probably just jealous! I love your album so far. And who cares if it isn't all matchy (is that a word) It's what you like. To tell the truth, I would get boring looking at an album that was all the same, page after page.
Now see Jen, this is why you need to just hang with all of us at the Orchard. :)

Wow that's so not nice! I have yet to attempt my wedding album digitally but paper scrapping I used many different papers and embellies none that matched.
I have been stuck on a few things digitally like yeah should I use the same kit etc (I can't make up my mind lol) and for me the main reason why I haven't done it is that I want it to be timeless and not just what I am into right now (ie trendy) and so I haven't figured that out yet lol.
Your album will be GORGEOUS no matter what!

I think the best thing is to do what you want, and what you think looks the best. My Wedding Album was done with paper scrapping, however every page is different to match the pictures or themes of that page. I would personally get bored looking at an album using the exact same kit on every page....and you'd probably get bored scrapping it (and run out of ideas).
I'm so sorry that someone told you that, and that they made you question your own thoughts on it. I say it will be beautiful no matter what you do, because it comes from the heart!

Thanks ladies, glad to see I am not alone.
And Wendy, I have nothing against doing an album all one kit..it's just not my style, KWIM?

Hmmm... YOUR book, YOUR wedding pictures, YOUR memories... seems to me the only thing "stupid" would be to let some silly woman make you question your GORGEOUS pages...
(there I go again, sarcastic, loud and blunt....are you guys SURE no one is sneaking vicodin into my diet pepsi???) he he he!
LOVE your stuff Jennifer! I wouldn't change a single thing!! :)

Once again, Shauna and I are in total agreement (vicodin-loaded diet pepsi or not! lol). It's YOUR book, you do what you want to do. And by the way, the pages I've seen so far look beautiful!
