I'm so excited to tell you all about how we celebrate our national day 5/17.
Children's parades





A noteworthy aspect of the Norwegian Constitution Day is its very non-military nature. All over Norway, children's parades with an abundance of flags form the central elements of the celebration. Each elementary school district arranges its own parade with marching bands between schools. The longest parade is in Oslo, where some 100,000 people travel to the city centre to participate in the main festivities. This is broadcast on TV every year, with comments on costumes, banners etc., together with local reports from celebrations around the country. Happy Mother’s Day! When I looked at the calendar and realized I’d be posting on Mother’s Day, I thought about my own mother.
When I look at the few photos I have with her, I don’t notice whether her hair is perfectly in place. I don’t notice if she’s wearing make-up. I don’t even notice the baby spit-up on the front of her dress. Instead I love seeing photos of us together…I see her love for me.

I have only a few photos with my Mom & I together…like 6. Why? Because she hates having her photo taken…and now so do I. I could stand to loose a few pounds (quite a few, actually)…I have a double chin…my hair never looks right…my shirt is dirty…
But this year I vowed to take more photos of me WITH my kids. You see, I ran across this story:
